LPNs and LVNs are the unsung heroes in nursing. LPN stands for licensed practical nurse and LVN stands for licensed vocational nurse. The letters of the title are dependent on which state the nurse lives. Most states use the title LPN. Many nurses get their LPN before getting their RN. This allows them to work in the field while they are going to school. Many universities offer LPN-to-RN bridge programs that are accelerated programs requiring less time to graduate.
I was a LPN from 1972 until 1995 when I became a RN. LPNs work very hard. They have many responsibilities. LPNs hold positions in hospitals, doctors offices, nursing homes, home health, and just about any other phase of the medical field.
I have created this page for the LPNs. I want them to know they are appreciated. You’ll find great gifts for Nurses Week or any other special occasion.

Developing a niche is an important aspect of making money online. A niche needs to be focused and narrow. You need to develop a following and become an expert on your niche subject. You need to have unique products, too.
At our meeting where we formed the Triangle Squids, we were discussing our lenses. I had mentioned that I had written a lens about gifts for nurses. Robin mentioned her t-shirt lenses and suggested I make some lenses with t-shirts for nurses and get even more specific with lenses for specific types of nurses. What a marvelous mind she has!
So here is the beginning of my t-shirt niche:
Nursing T Shirts #105
Nursing T-Shirts For Student Nurses #106
Certified Nurse T-Shirts #107
I have a lot more ideas for nurse t-shirt lenses. I’ll keep you posted.

Squidoo is a social marketing medium like no other. Writers are called lensmasters and their pages are called lenses. Squidoo allows you to write about most subjects. There are some rules and topics that are taboo. If your lens looks like spam or violates Squidoo’s terms of service, chances are you won’t be welcome to write there anymore.
It is easy to create a great looking page at Squidoo. All the tools are provided for you. Your lens will be broken up into modules. There are over 170 modules to choose. Some of them require your input and others will provide you with defined content. You can even earn money from sales from Amazon, eBay, CafePress, Zazzle, and others.
Many people give up on their websites because they just don’t understand how to manage them. That won’t be a problem at Squidoo. I have not met a more caring and helpful group of people anywhere. There are groups you can join. Squidoo provides answers to your questions on their forums and at the “Answer Deck”. Your pages get ranked within the Squidoo community and each month you will get paid according to your average lensrank for that month. Payment ranges from a few cents to several dollars and is paid for each lens you have that qualifies. It does add up if you have a lot of lenses. There are several lensmasters with over 400 lenses.
Does this sound like a good deal or what? I have never regretted signing up for Squidoo. I don’t think you will either. If Squidoo sounds like something you might want to try, you can join here. Give it a try today. You’ll be glad you did.
As for the title of this post, I read in one of the forums that 2 other lensmasters from my area had met for coffee and talked “Squidoo”. I sent them a message asking if I could meet with them the next time. That meeting took place last week. We had the best time together. You would have thought we have known each other for years. We discussed how much we enjoyed it and thought maybe lensmasters from other cities might enjoy the same thing. So we named our little group “Triangle Squids” and our meeting as “Squidoo Meet and Greets”. I wrote this lens, Meet The Triangle Squids, to spread the word and encourage others to start their own groups. It has been met with great enthusiasm. I also created a Facebook page about it.

Have you joined any causes on Facebook? Is it connected to one of your favorite charities? Facebook now makes it possible for you to ask your friends and family members to donate to your cause as a birthday present to you. Isn’t that just about one of the greatest ideas you ever heard? I thought it was, so I just had to write this lens to promote the idea. After all, we receive so many gifts we don’t really need and there are so many people in this country and the world that need help. So, this year ask your friends and family to give your present to someone in need. They’ll feel great satisfaction and your birthday will feel better knowing you have helped others.

After you write 100 pages, what do you do next? Well, you write a collection page of all of your work for the world to see. At least that’s what I did. I hope you enjoy this and will take some time to read some of them. I would ask that you read all of them, but that seems a little pretentious.

Wow, I have reached the magic number – 100. Now I am eligible to apply for the Giant 100 Club. What an exciting day for me. Pinch me so I know it’s real. The best part of posting this lens is that it is a Zazzle lens and I have sold 2 Mother’s Day cards from it already. Besides that, it has been blessed by a SquidAngel. Things can’t get much better. Well, I could make a sale everyday from it. Besides Zazzle cards, there are great Mother’s Day gifts to be found. From gift baskets to jewelry, you’ll find something great to give Mom. There are even gift selections for First Mother’s Day moms. You can’t lose by checking out this page. Your mom will love you for it.

Wow, #99. I never thought I would be here. Just one more to make 100. Thank goodness I have a month to do it.
This is my St. Patrick’s Day entry for the Get Cracking Challenge. I haven’t done a lens every day. I didn’t want to make a lens just to make a lens. I wanted some quality in what I wrote. This page highlights St. Paddy’s Day products from Zazzle. Most of them are from my store, but I found a few I liked from other stores.

The Senior Squid Weekly Challenge for 2/21-2/27 was to write about Winter. The Get Cracking challenge for 2/27 was to write about snow. I guess it was inevitable for me to write this lens since one lens covers two challenges. North Carolina doesn’t get a whole lot of snow away from the mountains and ski resorts. This year we managed to have 3 snow storms. The first hit the week before Christmas. It didn’t last to give us a White Christmas, but it was pretty just the same.

Spring is coming! Are you ready? We’re going to find out if the Senior Squids are ready. Every week brings a new challenge to this group on Squidoo. The week of 2/28/10 is my week. I chose Spring as my challenge topic. After all, it’s almost March. The first day of Spring is in March. The topic is broad and includes anything to do with spring, anything involving Spring or that has a spring, something that puts a spring in your step, or anything that happens in Spring. I know the Senior Squids are up to this challenge. I wrote this lens so they could add their pages to it. Squidoo has a module called a plexo. This is a list of links. The authors add the link to their page and can vote for it. Anyone else who reads it can also vote for it. It’s a fun interactive module.
See what the Senior Squids have come up with. Find out the Meaning of Spring according to them.
