I love animals…do you?

I admit I love animals. So does my son. We love meeting animals and learning about animals. That is one of the reasons why I have a large collection of animal trivia quizzes. I have put together my collection of animal trivia over several years and have had a lot of fun creating these animal trivia quizzes. I hope you enjoy taking the quizzes as much as I did creating them for you. Who knows…you might ever learn some new animal facts.

My animal trivia quizzes include some obvious choices. My husband and I have owned (or been owned by) three dogs over the course of our marriage and so a dog trivia quiz was one of the first I created. I grew up with cats (as well as dogs) and love them too so a cat trivia quiz had to be next. We have lived in Kentucky since 1994 and I grew up around horses as well so ahorse trivia quiz seemed only natural.

My other animal trivia quizzes were simply inspired by interest and questions. I have always wanted to go on an African safari (of the photographic kind) and so an African animal trivia quiz was a natural choice. My family has always been interested in bird watching and so a bird trivia quiz joined the collection. While I do not find fish and reptiles as personally attractive they are certainly interesting and so my fish trivia quiz and reptile trivia quiz joined my animal trivia collection.

What other group of animals should I explore next?

Take a quick summer break with this fun summer trivia

There is so much to enjoy about summer that sometimes we can forget to just stop and relax! I hope my trivia quizzes will be just the chance you need to take a little break from trips to the pool and ball park as well as hectic vacation schedules.

I have seven fun trivia lenses devoted to summer so stop by and check them out!

My two newest summer trivia lenses are focused on summer sports trivia and Labor Day trivia quizzes.

My two oldest are tributes to Father’s Day and Fourth of July but I also have some trivia fun that offers more general summer fun including a Summer Fun Trivia lens, Ice Cream Trivia Quizzes, and Gardening Trivia.

Are you enjoying summer?

I have to admit that looking at this summer as a whole it has not been a good one. It may well be the worst summer I’ve had in several years. There have been moments of summer fun and enjoyment but there have equally been very dark and difficult times as well.

However, my husband and I have worked quite hard to make sure that our son doesn’t look back at this summer as the worst in his life. Here are some of our ideas for kids activities to help him make the most of his summer vacation.

Of course we have hit many of the highlights of summer such as the Fourth of July and lots of ice cream and other summer fun such as swimming and travel.

Unfortunately we haven’t had much time for other summer sports activities and Father’s Day was a bit of bust due to circumstances. And yet again my gardens are a mess because we haven’t had the time or energy to deal with them properly.

And so, is it any wonder that while I know better than to wish my life away I am looking forward to Labor Day Weekend?

Share some random trivia fun

If you know me at all then you know that I love trivia. I love learning interesting facts and creating fun trivia questions. I have put together quite a long list of Squidoo lenses devoted to what I think is the best trivia online. Many of my trivia facts have been assembled according to theme but I also enjoy making some much more random trivia lenses as well and this post is devoted to introducing those.

Two of my lenses have links to my themed trivia lenses but also offer fun trivia questions of a more random nature. These are fun trivia and trivia quiz questions and they both offer at least 10 random trivia questions.

Two more lenses include trivia questions created in response to visitor promts. These are free trivia questions and free trivia questions and answers.

Last but not least I have two lenses with simply trivia questions and answers and/or trivia facts. Should I convert these lenses to quizzes too? These are best trivia fun ever and interesting facts.

What a great weekend

We are in the throes of Fourth of July Festivities this weekend. What about you? Are you celebrating Independence Day?

We kicked off with a local cookout and fireworks display Friday night with friends and will conclude the weekend with a community celebration Monday night. In between we have just enjoyed time relaxing and doing a little work around the house including somegardening and playing with our dog.

My husband son even got to spend some time doing one of their favorite summer funthings which is to go fishing. They like to spend a little time with the fish in the cool evenings while our dog Max and I just hang out and listen to the birds settle in for the night. They are quite happy to have Max hang out in the yard as then none of the neighborhood cats will come calling.

Are you ready for a little Summer Trivia Fun?

Are you a big fan of summer? I do love summer although it may fall behind spring and autumn in terms of favorite seasons. I love being able to sit in my backyard in the evening and admire my gardens. I enjoy time on the water with my family. Perhaps most of all I love the fact that summer brings delicious fresh vegetables. Yum! I love fresh fruit and vegetables in many forms. What is your favorite thing about summer?

I have chosen to celebrate my love of summer with a little trivia. If you like summer and trivia then you won’t want to miss my trivia quizzes celebrating summer fun and starting with Fathers Day and July 4 but also including summer specialties including ice cream and gardening.

Spring comes to an end June 20

As we near the end of Spring on June 20, I find myself reluctant to say farewell for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I have not yet finished everything up that I hoped to get done at home and at work, so I am not really ready for Summer to arrive.

Also, there is so much that I love about Spring that I always hate to say good-bye. Spring is usually a lovely time of year here in Kentucky and we can really get in touch with Mother Nature and Gardening as well as our own Mothers. Plus there are all the Spring Sports and other spring events including International Women’s DaySt. Patrick’s Day, Earth Day, and March Madness. And of course, here in Kentucky, Spring is also a busy time for horse lovers.

Perhaps I need to simply sit back and enjoy my gardens and listen to the nesting birds and enjoy these last days of Spring!

Father’s Day is June 19

Father’s Day is only a few weeks away which means it is definitely time to think about how you will honor the father figures in your life. While honoring my father is very important, I also have to help my 10-year-old son honor his father. He has some definite ideas but sometimes he does need a little guidance (as well as someone to buy art supplies and take him to the store). This is going to be a tough day for our family as this is our first Father’s Day without my father-in-law. Marking Memorial Day was difficult for me as he was a veteran of both World War II and Korea.

I also think this is an important time to honor all those father figures in our lives. We all have special men who are not our fathers and grandfathers but may be uncles or honorary uncles or simply friends who have helped shaped the people we are and provided emotional support or simply cheered us on from the sidelines. What do you do for those men?

Here is a quick rundown of some of what I am doing (or have done) to recognize Father’s Day.

The men in my life know I am not a serious person much of the time so most of them appreciate my fun Father’s Day tribute a Father’s Day Trivia Quiz.

I am also helping my son write a love letter for his father and grandfather. He is feeling very creative. It is going to be more of a digital story with lots of pictures. I think it will be pretty great when he is done.

I have already purchased a book for my father that I know he will like and I’m also thinking about getting him a portable DVD player as I love mine so much!
