It was more likely someone trying to harvest your email address and perhaps sell it as a “live” one for email spam lists. Unfortunately, it’s probably best to be very suspicious of unsolicited email like that and not respond at all.

I would think a serious buyer would provide a bit more information. I’d be skeptical in this case, too.
