The Musical Theater House in Bremen, Germany had a splendid idea. For the premiere of the rock musical “Naked”, several actors were to appear in their natural state and the audience was invited to follow their example. The PR folks counted on at least a handful of theater goers to be brave enough and drop their trousers. After all, they’d be rewarded with complimentary tickets!
You see, attendance had been low at the theater and a clever PR campaign involving nudity was sure to revive the sluggish ticket sales of late. A few free admissions were certainly a small price to pay. Or so they thought…
The phones never stopped ringing, hundreds of folks wanted to see the show for free. And yes, they’d come naked! They’d come as they were…as members of some of the many nudist clubs in the area…
Ooops!

Too Clever PR
The Bremen Musical Theater had to retract their campaign. It might have closed them for good.
What do you think is the morale of this story?

The morale? I’m not sure, but I do know I’d feel uncomfortable standing where the photographer was standing. After all, this blog is called “Dumpling Cannon”…
