Ode To An Angel – Happy Birthday, Dear AJ!

9:25 pm in Breaking News, Featured by Chef Keem

After reading through AJ2008’s Squidoo lensography, you come away with a warm feeling in your heart – you want to be friends with this woman!

I am honored and proud to be part of the ever growing circle of AJ’s buddies – I love her to pieces! (Preferably: pieces of English shortbread with clotted cream…)

You see – AJ’s lenses are like invitations to her home, her life, and her heart. She showers her readers with kindness and love, for real – because that’s all she knows. Her sweet sense of humor weaves gently through much of her work…you can tell: AJ loves life!

If you ask me, AJ is one of the few lensmasters who have dramatically improved the soul of Squidoo. She has set new standards in personal sharing that have inspired countless new members to follow her lead. Squidoo would not be the same, and not as good as it is today – without AJ2008!

Today, May 21 – is AJ’s birthday!

All year long, you make our hearts sing, dear AJ! Today our voices join in for your song…

We love you, AJ!

We love you, AJ!

Always Faithful – My First Fan: SemperFidelis

8:04 pm in Lensmasters by Chef Keem

Quick – who, aka Colleen Lane, has been a member since February 13 2007, has rated 2,135 lenses, favorited 1,186, and has created 239 lenses from scratch?

And, who became my first fan, smiling at me from my Squidoo lensmaster page?

Hint: Look at the headline of this post!

Yippee – you’ve got it! (I bet she’s your fan, too!)

SemperFidelis, aka Colleen Lane, personifies the meaning of her lensmaster ID – “always faithful”…

…to masterpiece lenscrafting: Shih Huang Ti, First Emperor of China

…to service work within the Squidoo community: Squid Angel

…to sharing her expertise with us: Traffic from Image Searches

…to changing the world, one lens at a time: Recycle Washington

Colleen has been a generous mentor to me (and hundreds of other squidlins). This is my favorite story of our friendship:

In October of 2008, I emailed Colleen a request for help with my image coding problems. She took the time to write out the codes for me – but she also “took me by the neck” and shook me up with the words:

“Knowing HTML is a must! Go here and here and study!” This really got me going. :)

I’ll share these “here’s” with you – here, of course.

1. The fabulous blog of Collen’s husband, Joe – explaining “clickable images”.

2. A comprehensive HTML School/Course/Tutorial. Free and easy to learn!

Now you, too, have no more excuses. Thanks to Colleen. And me (but don’t shoot the messenger!).
