Alternatives to Deleting a Lens

Victoria Neely says, “If you have a large collection of lenses, you probably have at least a few that aren’t doing much for you. They rarely get traffic, never earn money, never seem to rise in lensrank. Or maybe you have one of those lenses you made on a whim, and now you just aren’t interested in keeping up with it anymore.

So what do you do? Delete it? Unless it’s a throwaway WIP lens, I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you put a lot of effort into it. That would be a waste indeed, especially when you have other options.”

In her post, Victoria Neely gives us several suggestions of what to do with those lenses.

This is so apropos to what my lenses are doing right now. I have some very well performing lenses, some adequately performing lenses, some seasonal lenses that go up and down depending on the time of year, and then those sad little lenses at the bottom of my list. In most cases, a lot of work went into those sad lenses, so I don’t want to delete them. But I need to do something, so here’s to rescuing those sad little lenses, and bringing them back to the mainstream of lens life.
