WIP: Work in Progress

men at work 250x83 WIP: Work in ProgressI don’t know about you, but I never have enough time to work on all the lens ideas that come to me.  Some of them are additions to niches that I already have, while others are one offs, or new niche ideas.  I am not a good note taker, so I will put a good lens idea into WIP to make sure that I don’t forget that one.

A few days ago, I decided to clean up my WIP.  I had ideas in there that were a year old, and had not done anything with.  The ideas were still good, but I had never felt like making them into a complete lens.

Ironically, I have made many other lenses in that time, as well as new WIPs that I completed.

This week, I have taken on the task of cleaning out my WIPs.  I am either deleting them, completing them myself, or asking a fellow lensmaster, AnnMackieMiller, to finish them for me. My goal is to have all of the WIPs gone by the end of next week.

To that end, I have recently completed a couple of new lenses:

Celtic Knots

Collecting Vintage Furniture: 1960′s

Both of these lenses are part of niches that I already have, and were in planning for about a year.  It is such a relief to have them done.

The thing is, that no matter how good the ideas are, they are not making me any money while they sit in WIP.  And I that is not ideal.  As the second six months of the year is the best time to make money for any of my lenses, I want to use every bit of potential that I can squeeze out of my Squidoo account to take advantage of the opportunity to earn.  So in an effort to maximize our Squidoo accounts, and make money for ourselves and charity, I challenge all of the rest of you to do the same.

Clean up your mess.  Finish your WIPs by the end of August!
