4 Years on Squidoo

June 5, 2012 marks my 4th Squidiversary.  When I joined Squidoo on June 5, 2008, I had never done anything more than have a rudimentary website online, and had no idea what I was doing.  I joined primarily to promote the Lake Erie Artists Gallery website.  I honestly did not believe that more than a few dollars a month could be made from Squidoo, so I did not seek to earn originally.

After 4 years, I consider myself a veteran on Squidoo, as well as on several other sites.  I know about concepts that I didn’t even know existed when I started, I have earned $7,093.99 directly from Squidoo, as well as money through Squidoo from affiliate companies, and my own company.  While many other lensmasters can say that they have earned more money from Squidoo, I feel that I have been a great success on Squidoo, as well as on my own websites which have developed from the knowledge that I started learning on Squidoo.

While I honestly don’t believe that Squidoo will crash and burn as a company for a long, long time, I am a true believer in diversifying my income, and I have continue to build income from other article sites such as Wizzley and Zujava, as well as several privately owned websites that I have built from scratch.  And Lake Erie Artists Gallery is still my primary source of income.

I have made some real friends along the way, and have made some valuable business connections because of joining Squidoo.  I have used those people to help generate ideas for my business with success.  I have learned to navigate the internet, how to make my sites show up in search engines, and how to write to attract people who are searching.  Due to joining Squidoo, I am poised to take advantage of mobile technology to promote my little local gallery.

My greatest accomplishment since joining Squidoo has been stabilizing the income of my gallery, and helping other people learn how to stabilize their own income by teaching them what I have learned.  That is what Squidlog and Writing Online are all about, for other people to learn how to make money using the online opportunities that I have learned in conjunction with what Bev and AJ have learned.

I have to say that I am truly glad that I joined Squidoo when I did.  Squidoo has propelled me into ways of doing business that I may never have found otherwise.  I have learned a lot and continue to learn and used what I have learned to create new ways to improve my business both online and off.

  1. Congratulations on all you have accomplished Paula! You are generous and helpful and I have certainly learned a lot from you.

  2. Happy Squidiversary, my friend!

  3. Happy anniversary Paula! I, too, am glad you joined and have a income you can be proud of, but more importantly, you have built a brand/image of being helpful — passing along your knowledge to others — caring about others succeeding in the rough, unforgiving online world. Thank you — here’s to many more years of success.

  4. Congratulations Paula! I never sought Squidoo out to make money, mine was a similar story as a means of self promotion for my online storefronts. Once I started to earn more than a few bucks, I was hooked.

You’ve done a lot there, you should be proud!

  5. Sorry I am late to the party Paula, and here’s wishing you another successful 4 years on Squidoo. Happy Squidversary :)

  6. Belated Squidaversary to you, Paula! I agree with what Mandee said about your building an image or brand of being helpful and sharing what you have learned with others. You’re a great role model and I’m happy to know you!
