Free Marketing Courses (From IttyBiz!)

May 16, 2009 in Chef Keem's Blog Soup, Featured by Chef Keem

This is an update relating to an earlier post here… where I profiled one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining bloggers I know – Naomi Dunford at IttyBiz.com.

Her long-awaited Free Marketing Courses are here!

I just got my first installment of five free email articles to be sent over the next few days. Good stuff, of course, like everything from Naomi (and friends). She’s not like a lot of so-called gurus who tell you to follow their system (after you paid for it) and you will get rich and fat. (And she’s not like Chef Keem who tells you to eat his macaroons without mentioning that you will get fat and poor!) :)

Naomi lays out the foundation, the basic principles, and the necessary mind work for you to become a successful blogger.

Naomi is a very gentle email marketer. No spam (of course!), no endless sales pitches, no incessant follow-ups. A straight-forward, generous gal – that Naomi…

Go fall in love with her and get her Free Marketing Courses…

So you’ve written your own version of Jim Kirk’s and Mr. Spock’s world-changing adventures, as they have popped into your mind. It’s totally your story – created one night when your muses played ‘tag’ within your imagination.

Have you asked Paramount for permission?

So you have engaged in a tiny bit of copyright infringement. No big deal, you say – if you get caught you’ll just change your content and who’s got time to sue you anyway? And, defendants in court have powerful rights…

Get this: “Innocent until proven guilty” and “proof beyond a reasonable doubt” are principles of criminal law. Copyright suits are civil cases! Ooops…

Brad Templeton explains these and other copyright myths in his revealing article -

The Most Important Bloggers To Follow!

April 22, 2009 in Chef Keem's Blog Soup, Featured by Chef Keem

Following my last post on Chris Guillebeau’s excellent 279 Days manifesto I can’t help it but present another one of his generous sharings: 26 People I Highly Respect.

It’s a gratitude list and a thank-you note to the people who’ve helped him most with his online endeavors. And yes – our own Seth is one of them. (Of course.)

I’ve learned a tremendous amount of blogging tips from about a third of the folks on this list, and I truly appreciate meeting the rest of them now.

Chris Guillebeau, Chris Brogan, Naomi Dunford, Jonathan Fields, Seth Godin – embodiments of trendsetting generosity. These people give away for free what you couldn’t find anywhere else for money. (And they’ve changed the world doing it.)

If you’re building an online presence in whatever way it may suit you, these are the bloggers to follow and to learn from: 26 People I Highly Respect.

How YOU Can Go Viral On Twitter – Just Like He Did

April 6, 2009 in Chef Keem's Blog Soup, twitter by Chef Keem

Derek had less than 300 followers when he wrote a blog post that resulted in 300,000 Twitter feeds and 30,000 unique visits to his website. How did he do this?

You can use these 5 remarkable tips on your next blog post and see what happens.

For instance -

  • Talk about Twitter. Use “magnetic” headlines, i.e. “Little known ways to … on Twitter!”, “Ways Twitter helps …”, and so on.
  • Promote other services like Digg and Delicious…
  • Use copywriting templates…
  • Ask for tweets…
  • Write comprehensive content…

Find out how to do all this and much more in Derek’s article.

I just subscribed to Derek’s blog “Prevential“. It’s a fabulous resource for persuasive writing.
