Since Today is Sunny and Hot, I Couldn't Resist
June 25, 2009 in Lensmaster Blogs by lakeerieartists

As today is quite hot here in Cleveland, Ohio, and I have been wanting to highlight Robin’s wonderful Cabaret Squidoo blog, I just couldn’t resist today. I mean, really, after seeing the picture above, how many of you want to run right out and get the ingredients for this ice cream.
I have to admit that Real Ice Cream is one of my weaknesses. I am a Real Ice Cream snob. I just can’t eat the cheap ice creams anymore, and my favorite is Ben and Jerry’s. For those of you who don’t have Ben and Jerry’s in your area, think of the best ice cream you ever tasted, then add lots of chunks of nuts and chocolate (or whatever your favorite flavor is). That is Ben and Jerry’s. But this is even better! I can go out, and with a few simple ingredients, make MY OWN ice cream. (Wait, hold on a minute–writing the ingredients down on a list.)
Robin has created a very simple, yet attractive blog around her Cabaret Squidoo group. She highlights the recipes, lenses, and lensmasters while offering a great way for readers to interact with the recipes alone. She has added links to compatible products so that you know what to do with the ingredients and offers up her opinions on the recipe. And in this case, she even has a link to Allposters for the image. I will let you follow her link to Allposters from the blog, but come on now, you know that you want to.
Doesn’t Real Ice Cream just appeal to our inner child, bringing back memories of the ice cream man or other childhood summer specialties?
Think of the range of emotions that just this one product has evoked. I remember as a child, running out of our house when the ice cream man drove down our street ringing his bell. My mom would give me money to pay for the ice cream and the ice cream man would serve it out of the side of his truck.
Of course, Real Ice Cream is also connected to wonderful birthday party memories. No wonder it is a comfort food for many of us.
I have to say, Robin, this is the most fun that I have ever had with recipes. (OK, that’s it! Got my purse–need to get the ingredients.) Check out Robin’s blog site for other great features like a Facebook page, Cabaret Squidoo store, and lots and lots of great recipes.
Real Ice Cream would be tasty right now. I have some errands to do. Let me know what you think of the recipe.

Wow Paula, now I’m drooling…..
